What is the Encore?

The Encore is an organization of women and men who are dedicated to supporting and promoting Orchestra Kentucky through participation in special events, fundraising, and volunteer services. Established in 2006, our members now number over 100!

What Do We Do?

Fundraising is where we concentrate most of our efforts. However, we lend our assistance to the orchestra in a variety of ways. In September, we organize a fundraising party around a special event concert. Events have included a dance party following a concert by The Lettermen and a dinner party preceding a concert by Glen Campbell. We have also produced a decorator showhouse to raise funds. Periodically, we present our Notable Art event, where painted violins and other musical instruments are auctioned for Orchestra Kentucky’s benefit. Non fundraising activities include an orchestra store and orchestra office support. We also provide ushers for all of the orchestra’s concerts. Last year, The Encore donated $40,000 to Orchestra Kentucky.

We offer the opportunity to participate in any or all of our programs; to lend assistance to Orchestra Kentucky; to expand friendships; and to enjoy the music of this outstanding orchestra.
