| Children ages five to eighteen from eight surrounding counties participate in weekly orchestra rehearsals and perform for audiences throughout the year. Participation in orchestras develops children's skills in socialization and teamwork, and teaches them self-discipline and self-esteem. Orchestra Kentucky began the youth orchestra program in 2001 because orchestra is not widely available in our area public schools. |

 Prelude Strings is for those who have studied for one or more years. Youth Strings is for those who read music and can play at a moderate skill level. Youth Symphony is for advanced music readers and players. Membership is by audition only.  Tuition for each semester is $100 per student and is payable at the first rehearsal of each semester. |

 The Youth Symphony rehearses for one and one-half hours at Bowling Green Presbyterian Church on State Street on Thursday afternoons from 4-5:30. The Youth orchestra meets two semesters during the year. Click here to view the full schedule. Auditions are required for the Youth Symphony only. The audition requirements are: VIOLIN: 2 octave scales: G, A, B flat, D Major Solo - Suzuki book 4 level or higher Sight reading VIOLA: 2 octave scales: C, D, E flat, G major Solo - Suzuki book 4 level or higher Sight reading CELLO: 2 octave scales: C, D, E flat, G major Solo - Suzuki book 4 level or higher Sight reading BASS: 2 octave scales: E major, G major Solo - Suzuki book 4 level or higher Sight reading |
