About Us - Board of Directors
BRIAN SCHUETTE PRESIDENT
STEVE DOWNEY PRESIDENT-ELECT
Steve Downey has practiced law in Bowling Green for 31 years. He became interested in Orchestra Kentucky through his wife Claudia's involvement on the board, in combination with the Retro series. Now that he has been exposed to more than the Retro series, Steve is a fan of all the Orchestra Kentucky concerts. One of his goals as a board member is to add a broader cross-section of Orchestra Kentucky fans from across Warren County and the region.

He subsequently joined the United States Marine Corps, becoming an officer and aviator.   During his career, he and his family lived in North Carolina, California, Virginia, Rome, Italy, and Stuttgart, Germany.  He commanded a Marine Helicopter squadron in North Carolina and HMX-1, the squadron that supported the White House, Pentagon and Marines in the Washington, D.C. area.  He was the Presidential Helicopter pilot for Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush and retired as a colonel.  He and his wife, Cathy, moved back to Bowling Green in 2004.  He recently joined Orchestra Kentucky’s board and looks forward to contributing to its success. “Bowling Green was a wonderful town in which to grow and live.  Upon returning, I find that Bowling Green is just as good, if not better, a place to live and it is greatly enriched by organizations like OK.  Jeff Reed and staff, Encore, the past and present board members, and the generous and devoted patrons, have made this an exceptional musical organization of which Bowling Green and the state are surely proud."
